To make up for the 22 hours of my life I wasted watching Glee, I’ve decided to match that with at least 22 hours of television that’s actually good.
Mad Men is conveniently the anti-Glee. Beautiful production design aside, it’s a show with subtle and pitch-perfect performances, wonderfully slow-building character development (featuring actual continuity, a concept which the Glee writers desperately need to investigate), and writing that never panders to its audience.
